Motorists passing by the Enfield Central Library area Saturday morning may be startled by a huge amount of emergency vehicles in the library parking lot and at the adjacent Eli Whitney School. No need to worry, as the Enfield Police Department, in conjunction with the Enfield Town Council and Board of Education, is conducting active shooter training at the school. Training began Friday evening, and resumed Saturday morning. Residents of the area should be prepared for increased police activity in the area, and may hear simulated gunfire coming from the school building. Residents were notified of the training Friday afternoon via the town's alert system. The training is expected to be completed around noon. |
