Eight Enfield girls are proudly displaying their new trophy, banner, and jackets after returning from Washington, D.C. this week as National Champions. The girls are among the 32 members of the USA Wildcats Junior Level 2 team located in Windsor.

The undefeated team traveled to the all-star cheerleading competition February 23-24 in our nation's capital, along with hundreds of teams from all over the country.

The USA Wildcats is a premier all-star cheerleading program started in 1997 and have three gyms in CT. They have 19 teams and over 150 athletes that, since December, have already won close to 40 first place titles. The USA Wildcats are known for their top rate cheerleading and tumbling but they also teach the children self esteem, pride, and good sportsmanship.

Dominique Travali, an Enfield resident, and Charise Floyd-Pickering from Windsor are the team coaches. Nancy Discipio is the owner of the gym.

The team will travel to Walt Disney World March 8-11 to compete in their first International Championship, where they will compete against teams from all over the United States and the world.

The cheerleaders ranging in age from 8-13 are Caroline Kirk, Catherine Thomas, Auburn Pitkin, Dove Sinclair, Delaney Bowles, Nicola Travali, Kayla Gilbert, and Orchid Pitkin.
