UPDATE: As of 2:10 p.m., the accident scene has been cleared and all lanes are open.
Original Story
A two-vehicle accident on Interstate 91 at the Enfield/East Windsor line has reduced northbound traffic to one lane, causing a backup through East Windsor to the Dexter-Coffin Bridge.
The accident occurred around noon and involved a pair of vehicles. Enfield and state police and Enfield firetrucks coned off the scene, allowing traffic only in the right-hand lane.
No information was available as to whether anyone was injured in the collision.
Traffic became very heavy on secondary roads such as Route 140 and Route 5 in East Windsor and Enfield, as motorists left the highway to avoid the crash.
