It doesn't have the history of Black Friday or the popularity of Cyber Monday, but Small Business Saturday is gaining its own momentum.
The effort to get customers to shop at locally owned businesses began in 2010 with a push from American Express.
According to the official website for the day, 100 million people shopped last year at locally owned businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The idea is to encourage consumers to support the businesses that make their own communities thrive. That includes shops and restaurants — so consider having a meal out as well.
Tell us in the poll and comments about your plans to support small businesses on Saturday.
