For the second time in six days, the Windsor Locks Police Department is investigating a robbery at a local eatery.
Early Tuesday, police were called to the Subway Restaurant on National Drive for a report of man having pointed a gun at a clerk before demanding money.
According to police, the suspect entered the store at 12:04 a.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money. After taking an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot from the scene, police said in a release. No injuries were reported.
The man is described as having dark skin, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. During the robbery, the man wore a mask with a monkey's face, dark color pants and a black jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt, according to police.
Last week, police responded to a call for a robbery at the Wendy's Restaurant on Ella Grasso Turnpike after a light-skinned male reached over the counter and grabbed money from a cash register. Police are still searching for that suspect and have just released a picture of the man (see attached photo).
Anyone having information regarding either crime is asked to call the Windsor Locks Police Department at (860) 627- 1461.
