Due to snow accumulation from this morning's storm, a parking ban has been put into effect in the town of Enfield, extending through midnight Wednesday, Sgt. Willie Pedemonti said.
According to the town's web site, "When the Town of Enfield issues a parking ban, there will be no on-street parking. Any cars found parked on the streets during the parking ban will be towed."
The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for snow until noon, then a chance of snow and sleet until 4 p.m. Snow accumulation of up to four inches is expected.
The town has a snow and ice removal ordinance that goes into effect when the Director of Public Works declares the event that caused the deposit of snow or ice to be over. Residents and businesses have a 24-hour window for clearing of snow and/or ice from sidewalks. Those found in violation of the ordinance will be fined.
