The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced recalls of a selection of fleece, hoodie sweatshirts and t-shirts sold exclusively at Target stores and on Target.com due to a "violation of lead paint standard."
The items, manufactured by Children's Apparel Network, Ltd. of New York, have Disney character designs on them and were sold in red/white, gray/red and black/blue color combinations, according to the CPSC.
The items have Snow White, Mickey Mouse and "Cars" graphics on them, CPSC said.
Locally, there are Target stores located in Windsor, along the South Windsor-Manchester line and in Enfield.
According to CPSC, "RN 16435" and identification numbers specific to each design are printed along the side seam of the hoodie. The numbers and corresponding identification numbers are as follows:
Red Fleece Hoodie with Snow White Graphics — DP4253B
Grey Fleece Hoodie with Mickey Mouse Graphics — J4821
Blue Fleece Hoodie with "Cars" Graphics — J4820-A
The items were sold specifically during the months of October and December 2011.
The CPSC urges consumers to "take the product away from the child immediately and return the set to any Target store for a full refund.
